Re: A 70s japanese integrated?

A minefield of stuff out there,I have had an Aurex 15 micro system from new and still use it as a main unit at our second home.It is beautifully made and still stands up well to anything I have had since. The only trouble is they go for inflated prices relative to age (over 4o years ) and a good one ...

Re: Speaker repair help!

Re: Linn Keilidh Mods.

Agree with the tweeters ,I did get a trial on active but found the higher end unpleasant, but that could be down to my hearing but to date the speakers that suit best are my Audiomaster LS3/5As which are first batch models which only came to life when I found the right room -right stand height and cl...

Linn Keilidh Mods.

I have a pair of the Linn Keilidh speakers, the first batch.I know all the flack that flies back and forth about them and I agree with a lot of it.But the point is I am stuck with them as secondary speakers in my other listening room(namely the office) so want to make the best of them. They have no Ku...

Re: Solid Oak Speaker Stands

I am not a great experimenter but hate waste.A while back my wife and I were looking at the garage to create a space to indulge me with a wet darkroom which I enjoyed at our previous house.I noted we still had her aunts piano which she had inherited ten years previously but had little time for,a qui...

Ampion Xenon Speakers.

Anybody heard or had any experience of these speakers,I believe room and positioning are critical. My main concern is driving them on smaller amps, they are quoted at 86db but my Audiomaster LS3/5a speakers drive well and are supposed to be demanding.I have a choice of 30 watts per channel with my NV...

Re: Your last listen

Tom Waits "The Heart of Saturday Night".I was 25 when I first discovered his great sound ,still one of my favourite albums. Just bough a new copy as the old one was well past its best.On Asylum vinyl, bargain price and nice quality recording.

Re: Cheap Cars ?

My next door neighbour has the tool req.for disc changing and between us we recon £250.Local lad will do timing belt but only 30000 on car after 5years so no hurry.I go with old cars fit for a couple of years and then ditch them but can't persuade the wife.
