Re: New Open Baffle Project
Yes, no attenuation on anything. The sensitivities just seem to match. If I was to attenuate anything, it might be just up to 2db on top section (8 inch & FR mid/tweeter). Output on the bass section is pretty solid at 40hz with some output even at 30hz. The overall sound seems less 'forced' than...

Re: New Open Baffle Project
UPDATE I have now added the Monacor SPH-210 bass-mid drivers to the mix. The mid/tweeter is running from 5000khz with a 1st order XO. The 15 inch SP-382PA crosses over to the bass/mid @ 160hz with a 4th order LR XO implemented on the miniDSP. All drivers are being run flat with no EQ or level adjust...

Re: Recommend me a good book.
Some great recommendations Slinger. They sound right up my street. I could suggest my own modest contribution: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Business-Information-Systems-Technology-Development-ebook/dp/B07LC6C7FT/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=bocij+greasley&qid=1567686635&s=gateway&sr=8-2 but it would ...

Re: Your last listen
Vaughan Williams: The Wasps, Aristophanic suite. Very British! Also rather demanding of speakers, as I've discovered with my OB project.

Re: New Open Baffle Project
OK, here's the latest. 1. No tartan paint applied yet (clearly the number one issue) - MacRae tartan is a tad tricky. 2. The sound is now as balanced as it can reasonably be with the small FR driver with an overall cut to the full range driver and a cut at 5khz running from 2khz to 10khz to account ...

Re: Corbyn is an evil upstart monkey........
I think many of you actually missed the point of my post showing Jacob Rees Mogg lounging across the bench. Why I said " They don't do themselves any favours, do they? " at the bottom was a completely apolitical point, for once. What I was saying with that comment was that with his party ...

Re: New Open Baffle Project
Yes Jammy, mine are particularly ugly. I have a mk2 version in mind that involves recycled scaffolding boards. Seriously! Fortunately I have my own study / listening room, albeit one of modest dimensions (12 x 14 x 9 feet).

Re: New Open Baffle Project
I know, Jammy. These are serious issues for mass market box shifters. Even semi-omnis fail in the vase department. Yes DocF, I'm delighted with the progress so far. I'll sort out some pictures when I've tidied the listening room. At the moment it's a spaghetti of cables, boxes, bags of bits etc. It'...

Re: New Open Baffle Project
Well done for identifying the cause of the dissatisfaction. And for the having to hand the necessary gear. I agree that DSP is a great way to quickly establish ways forward. Though once I've found the values I like with the shelf filters in JRivers DSP, I can't resist building physicla L-pads to me...
