Re: Phono 2 (MC) / PSU Loan

Thank you, I will bear that advice in mind if I go down that route.

Re: Phono 2 (MC) / PSU Loan

I should probably have said that the internals of the Quad 34 bear very little resemblance to the original although the outside looks standard. It does still have the tone controls though which I use when playing 78's - I need to think about whether I will need these in future. My family does like t...

Re: Phono 2 (MC) / PSU Loan

I meant to say one more thing in my "review" above - the Phono 2 reminded me why for years I regarded CD and even SACD as a secondary source to vinyl, the sense of air and space combined with the feeling you can almost reach out and touch the performers provided by a good vinyl system is in my opini...

Re: Phono 2 (MC) / PSU Loan

With the Phono 2 with its extra power supply now on the way back to the Doc its time for my “review”, I'm sorry it is so long. The review was essentially done in two parts the reason for which will become apparent. To start with my setup was: Garrard 401 turntable with Graham 2.2 tonearm and Ortofon...

Re: Phono 2 (MC) / PSU Loan

Hi Doc, following our conversation on Thursday afternoon I've booked the courier for Monday so they should be back with you on Tuesday. I'll post a review tomorrow or Monday as I've taken up your suggestion of listening to the Phono 2 again using the P50SA rather than the modified Quad 34. All the b...

Re: So what do I start saving for now???

Hi Zebbo Having just returned it to the Doc after a lengthy trial I'd say you have to try the TSCS, I was amazed at the difference between that and LS6 in my system. Better bass, treble and all the usual hi-fi stuff but more importantly much more musical and much more believable. Has to be heard - I...

Re: TSCS Loan 2.5m

Come on everyone, you owe it to yourselves to hear these cables - they are amazing and I will miss them until I get my own set. The only caveat is that if you hear them you will want to buy them!

Re: Phono 2 (MC) / PSU Loan

Hi Doc, I'd like to borrow the Phono 2 with both power supplies please. I'll be using it with an Ortofon Kontrapunct A, a NorthWest Analogue DH-103 (retipped, rebodied Denon DL-103) and maybe a Koetsu Rosewood if mine hasn't sold yet. I have a Dynavector P75 plus a couple of built in MC stages to co...
