Re: Discogs - by Collectors, for Collectors

Yes it's an issue that many folks selling don't really know how to grade properly. But for most part sellers will happily accept returns if there's a grading dispute, or offer a partial refund. I will often message sellers first and quiz them a little on the grading before pulling the trigger on som...

Re: Discogs - by Collectors, for Collectors

For any release listing there are two buttons on the right hand side - 'add to collection' and 'add to wantlist'. If you add something to your wantlist, you should then get an email whenever items on the list are added to the market place. Or, you can access your list from a tab on the dashboard and...

Re: Discogs - by Collectors, for Collectors

I spend way too much time (and money) on discogs - it's great! In addition to the marketplace, it's a great tool for cataloging one's collection, and getting a sense of its value. The best function for me though is the want list - it's enabled me to snag some very rare pieces at great prices.

Re: New names and numbers for NVA Power Amplifiers - discussion thread

Hah! But not true. A chance to have a nice long session - the first in ages - with my *checks notes* Artisan M600s prompted me to drop by. It's nice to be reminded of just how good they are  Also, my absence is only due to the fact that lockdown and post-lockdown as the main carer of two infan...

Re: New names and numbers for NVA Power Amplifiers - discussion thread

I'd feel a bit queasy using name so closely associated with a brutal totalitarian regime, even if its use is only tongue-in-cheek. It's also kinda clunky. I'm sure there's a better name out there that can convey the relevant ideas. A starting suggestion: The Workhorse. Here are two definitions from ...

Looks great!

I'm not sure why, but I'm suddenly in the mood for a couple of fried eggs.

Re: Record Brushes

Yes I reckon so. The Furutech is nice, but I wouldn't say it was worth the extra expense over the blusher.

Re: Record Brushes

I wondered about a blusher brush, as it happens. Looks uncannily similar to the Futuretech one that sells for £135. Maybe there are some important differences? The hairs are different - synthetic on the blusher, natural on the Furutech. The Furutech also has some extra synthetic fibres which reduce...

Re: Record Brushes

I went through a bunch of different pads and brushes a while ago, and this was the one that I stuck with (ignore the rest of the kit): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0009IGAPW/ref=pe_3187911_189395841_TE_3p_dp_1 I prefer pads to the carbon fire brushes, and this was best pad, I think. After using the ...

Re: NVA Reviews (THIS THREAD IS ONLY FOR STASHING REVIEWS)

Here's a review of my upgrade from A80MKII to MKIII: This week I received my upgraded A80s. My A80s were, I think, the last amps that Richard worked on before he passed away. They were the first and, I think, only pair in the wild that were fitted with the higher quality transformers that Richard ha...
