Re: Grado SR80 Appreciation Thread.

Ok punching two holes in = 'vent mod'. There ten holes in the frame surrounding the driver that are covered with a thin material, and punching holes in the material allows more bass. The ms-1 came with two stock holes punched, i punched two more. i also removed (snapped out) the plastic grills. I ha...

Re: Grado SR80 Appreciation Thread.

OK this is NVA forums, not a headphone forum, and I don't want to always talk about 'my thing' so I will be brief and leave it at that. Took of the distancers on my ms1's and put back the cut comfies blu tacked to some thin foam carpet underlay of the same shape to bring the pads out from the driver...

Re: Grado SR80 Appreciation Thread.

Was not my plan to get into haedphones again, used to use them much more than speakers, but this forum pushed me to try some grado's. With the ms1000 mods, gone is peircing tinny crap highs and replaced with energy. No album sounded like a studio recording, but instead like a gig down the local pub,...

Re: Grado SR80 Appreciation Thread.

Thanks for the replies. i have thought about 225e after reading fretless's comments on them. Had a spare half hour today and found some 40mm pipe in the shed so quickly made up some 'ms1000's' by blutaking the pipe to the drivers and gluing some old cotton tshirt around the inside, and over the ends...

Re: Grado SR80 Appreciation Thread.

Been thinking about Grado for a while, so grabbed some Allessandro-ms1's for cheap. They're OK, but fatiguing and a bit tinny and thin like a small radio. Vocals are Ok and i don't mind the drum sounds, but really like the upfront presentation and the light weight on my head (compared to LCD2 which ...

Re: Volume Channel Balance

Thanks for the replies guys. OK sorry but I'm a tad confused now. I realize the direct input bypasses the switch and goes through the pot, but can I use this as a tape out (output) to go to my headphone amp? It would be great for me if it could. I did not think possible but after seeing that diagram...

Volume Channel Balance

Hi all. Finally got myself some NVA gear. P20/a20 combo with LS2 and CS copy IC's (rothwell). I have some questions.... Using Royd standmounts in a small 4x4 metre room, I don't need to turn the volume up much at all. I am getting some channel balance issues. This happens JUST at the volume level I ...

Re: Introduce Yourselves

International delivery is no problem - it's just that the rates vary significantly by country, so we haven't had the chance to set rates for all locations yet. Drop me a line with what you need and your shipping address. Will do thankyou sir. Just need some time to organise etc. etc. All shipping r...
