Re: Phono 2 / dual PSU - My thoughts

That's sort of the problem though - it's the TAS that's occupying my thoughts a bit. How far above the Phono 2/dual PSU is it? The one thing that two decades with Naim taught me was that power supplies were important. And the further you get above the £1000 mark the more weird and esoteric the phon...

Re: Phono 2 / dual PSU - My thoughts

I'm sure you won't be disappointed. It is £680 with dual power supplies of course but that is still an absolute bargain. I've not tried it running on just one PSU yet, I just went straight in with the two. Be careful though, within weeks of trying the Phono 2 I'd also bought a pair of A80's! :D

Phono 2 / dual PSU - My thoughts

Hello all Well I've had my Phono 2 in place for a couple of months now so thought I'd let you all know what I think. I'd been using an Anatek MC1 for a couple of years and was really happy with it, but I do like trying stuff out and constantly pitched it against other phonostages amongst which were ...

Re: Reviews and reviewers - are they necessarily bad?

 Well said that man. The first problem though seems to be getting people to be at all interested in hi-fi in the first place. We had a bit of a party here over the weekend for my other half's 50th birthday with about 25 friends & family. The hi-fi sits in full view in the lounge with my lo...

Re: Reviews and reviewers - are they necessarily bad?

I think there is a place for reviewers & reviews, one just has to try and sort the wheat from the chaff. Some of the best known, (KK?), seem to be just full of shit but I think you get a feel for whether the reviewer is trying to tell it like it is or just loving the sound of their own voice, (a...

Re: C'mon - Yer first HiFi......?

When I was washing up in the Wimpy Bar at 15 years old I saved up my money and bought a Trio KA3700, KT5500 & the cassette player that went with it, can't remember the number. I'm not too sure what the speakers were, may have been Wharfedale Lintons and my parents bought me a cheap Technics TT.

Re: Help.....A good budget MC cartridge.?

The lowest output you can get away with I would have thought. It doesn't seem to work like you'd think, I changed from a 0.4mv Koetsu to a 0.24mv ZYX and the output level seems virtually the same.
