Re: Obits
Sad to hear of the passing of long time Richard Thompson backing musician Pete Zorn. A highly talented multi instrumentalist of the highest order, he has played on countless RT recordings over the years, as well as being a band member for many years.

Re: Your last listen
On CD..
This young Irish singer/guitarist obviously listened to a lot of Bonnie Raitt growing up, this is a lovely album.

Re: room acoustics and treatment
Well I've got carpets, curtains, settees, a book case, an even bigger bookcase full of CDs, and a nice leather easy chair. In other words, a normal sort of front room, and my music sounds good enough to me. If I even had to contemplate some of those hideous looking, and expensive, "acoustic tre...

Re: They took their time!
My minds blown! Just as I was typing the last message and listening to Radio Paradise, what should come on but Morning Will Come off the Dr. Sardonicus album, the very first Spirit song I ever heard on an old CBS sampler LP. You must mean the "Together" album. I was a year before you, I f...

Re: They took their time!
I bought the Potato Land LP back in the 80's when it was eventually released in the UK on Beggers Banquet label, came with a comic if I remember rightly. I loved that album, though god knows what they were on when they recorded it 8-) Some years later I bought the CD version of the album and that is...

Re: They took their time!
Don't worry Fretless, I've been into Spirit for well over 40 years now, and the similarities between Taurus and the start of S.T.H are obvious. I went to see Randy California circa 1980, and along with Johnny Winter was probably the unhealthiest looking artist I've ever seen. As my mum would have sa...

Re: Your last listen
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/516MCSniKfL._SY355_.jpg Gave RT's latest another spin and this one is excellent. Been in a creative rut for some years but this is his best since the 1990s. Great sounding 45 rpm double vinyl which helps. I can't agree with you about his 2000+ output. Sweet War...

Hi Jim
Mathewpiano on WHF (one of the few on there whose opinion I rate) is a firm advocate of your Denon CDP and for the money it's a no-brainer really. Enjoy!
