Yer fav Oliver Reed film

Unread post by CN211276 » Wed Jan 09, 2019 8:32 pm

Thought I would start this thread as today I visited The Pub (thats what it is called) in Valletta where he had his final drink. It is very small and has become something of a shrine, decorated with pictures of him. The Wi-Fi pass word is the name of Bill Sykes dog.
Films I think are good which spring to mind are:
Oliver
Tommy
Women in love
The triple echo
Hannibal Brooks
Recall seeing the first two listed in the cinema when they came out.
I set a course just east of Lyra
And northwest of Pegasus
Flew into the light of Deneb
Sailed across the Milky Way

Sonore microRendu/MCRU PS, AQ J-bug, Wirewold Ultraviolet, Chord Mscaler-Qutest/MCRU PS, Geitnote Apogee, NVA BMU, P90SA, A80sMk2, Phono 1, SSP Mk 2, TSCS, TIS mk2, Cube 1s, Atacama stands, Rega Planar 3, Denon DL-110, Grado SR 325e, headphones.

Second system
Chord Mojo (also HP amp), NVA P20, A20, Cubettes, SSC, LS3.

Out and about
Oppo PM3, Audioquest Dragonfly Red.

R.I.P. Doc

Shows how much you know.

His best film is clearly Ken Russel's "the devils". That is one INTENSE film and Reed is absolutely ....wot. there is no word.

.......
Just watched "Treasure Island" yesterday. Reed's character accent was very thick but Christopher Lee so changed his voice, I could hardly believe it was him. (He is Blind Pweh, so his eyes were covered over throughout with a rag.)
