That's not that high a pile to climb though.

I loved the Watchmen comics. Tried to watch the film once but gave up about a third of the way in. i didn't think it transferred well to the screen. (not many comics do). I still have the watchmen trade paperack sitting in a box somewhere.
A sci-fi series that was on telly late nineties/early noughties was Lexx. A real odd- ball show. i think I still have it all on DVD.

Still have all my original Watchmen comics, might be worth something, someday.

Collected a lot of comics in the 80's - it was an interesting time when the concept of Superhero started to mature and deepen.

I was talking about the films. I agree the Dark Night films were good, but recent not so much. If you are talking about the characters, then I would put money on Captain Marvel or the Silver Surfer vrs Superman, and just about anyone against Batman.

I thought the Netflix Marvel series were good, at least the Jessica Jones and Daredevil ones.

Brown Bottle

Superman is the stupidest superhero ever.

How can he withstand 7.62mm bullets being fired at him and yet someone can shake his hand as Clark Kent and mistake him for a human being?

How does he fly? What about Newtons Laws of motion? Equal and opposite action and all that? Where's his propulsive force come from?
And heating and X-ray eyes? What a load of cobblers?

On a plot level he's too strong with too few weaknesses. There's never any real threat to him.

OK Spiderman is nonsense too. As it ignores mass depending on the cube of length or height of any object. Spiders can climb walls. A man couldn't because of this cubed mass rule. It's explained in the comic by Spiderman having lots of small hairs on his fingertips etc. They wouldn't support his weight.

Still, at least Spiderman is more vulnerable than Superman.

Brown Bottle from Viz is my kind of superhero. :orcs-cheers:

Cheers Hemmo for the head up, kinda googled it since you brought it up in your earlier post, never realised so much has branched out from it's initial 2009 movie. 8-)

I have a soft spot for Flash Gordon, though I don't own it but I find myself tuning in whenever its on TV,
not the usual superhero rushing about trying to save the universe,
I like the sexy undertones to it entertaining, big round romping beds with drapes,
high kicking bombshells with outfits cut right up to there running wild shooting off,
and there's the tightly clad lass straddling our hero and grind while he tries to steer the ship through the universe, a fun superhero movie.
Frank...made me do it.

There's a new series that starts on BBC 1 at 20:00 tomorrow (Sunday 03/11/19) - His Dark Materials - based on Philip Pullman's series of books. It's produced by Bad Wolf and New Line Cinema for BBC One and HBO and rumours are that it's the most expensive drama of its kind ever commissioned by the BBC. Series 2 is already in production.

I, for one, am looking forward to it very much.
