And what about renting some space ?? for example Rainham Library has some rooms from £15/h - smallest one has capacity of 20 and free wifi.
4h for 10 plp would be £6 per head. Easy access - train station just outside - also massive Tesco Extra parking ( free ) 3 min walk away etc.
Pub 2 min away etc.
Just a thought ;]

Because it is not a normal room, they are normally too high and rotten sounding. Personally I want a normal living room, which will have to be a reasonable size. I would prefer a drive to Wales than get a crap room.

We need to realise that the room is almost the most important part of the system, and it should be natural as a reality, the way they are. Somewhere like Owston as it has been described to me is a complete waste of time, even MCRU dem room is not a normal room. I think Scalford was good because being an old brick building with normal rooms most of them worked. I made the mistake on the one I did of having the hall with 20ft high ceiling and massive area. It needed a PA!!!!.

i have emailed about Herne Bay the room is perfect.

It seems I am wrong about NVA being banned from ASBO, BUT I personally was banned that I know, and when I offered to supply product I remember being refused or ignored I don't remember which, apart from it was the usual rudeness.

Colin as they are saying now that there will be a new ASBO in the spring we can do it there with pleasure if you organise it, as I am now told NVA product is not banned from going. But I will have to send the gear to you to set up as I am banned from attending it.

Herne Bay is provisionally available as long as we get a mutual date agreed.

Will all those who want to come please give late Feb and March available Saturdays and Sundays. It will only be one day but it could be either.

We don't want just HFS members so Colin needs to talk about it at other forums.

Personally I don't want also run crap to join in this event so we have to say it was pissed on, that is not the point. So people like LFD or Les would be welcome as well. Let us call it the current state of the art hi-fi amplifier bake-off.

Numbers are limited but we can get a few as the room can cope, but max 10 attendees.

For the event I want everyone to say "ah! that's good" what ever is put on. This is not a what is best event, it is a "how to reproduce music" event and a demonstration of excellence.

I am banned from attending Colin, and I trust you. I will probably meet you in the car park and give you the gear, and sit and read a book or listen to radio 4. So if you run into a problem you can come out and ask me. ALSO it serves the purpose of showing them up for the daft arses they are, to ban me from it. I will have a little bet they will now invent a new rule so we can't do it.
