Given its not out until February I’d say not.
According to What Hifi it will be unveiled at the Bristol show. Not far from me and I'm tempted to go.

Chord showing their colours of starting to milk the DAC/digital sector of HIFI.

Release what is basically a 'tweaked' 2Qute (all but just more TAPS) and for those who bought into the 2Qute early find out their DAC is now only worth £500 (nice 50% depreciation over 18 months) so a nice £700 to upgrade to a tweaked DAC !!! :Bllocks:

Ohh and one of those 'tweaks' being to change the power input.... so all those with upgraded linear power supplies will have to pay for a change to a 5v usb based charging lead.

First tip: Buy secondhand or ex-dem (I paid £750 for my 2Qute).

Second tip: Ignore the new model. If I decide to upgrade in the future then the new model will be just one of several options to try out.

Agree that it is probably a tweaked 2 Qute. I think my Mojo is a bargain of NVA proportions but I'm looking for something which will not need charging, whilst retaining the Mojo for domestic head phone use.

If you can pick up a 2nd hand 2Qute for around £600 now...that would be well worth hearing against the Qutest.

Toontrev, Hemmo1969, herbie07 and Quarknosis have all heard the 2Qute (fed by MicroRendu) at my place.

The 2Qute is said (by it's designer) to be optimised for USB, btw.

I have also read good things about the Metrum and Border Patrol. Competition is hot, but I do like the Chord sound.

I heard a Metrum Musette in my system. Well worth considering. Definitely got something about it. I think they also have a new model out.

George Hincapie & Fretless own Metrum dacs, IIRC.

Not heard the BP

A DAC bake off would certainly be interesting...

And to keep Richard happy, the plan is to sell it directly for £200. David took the photo's for me. The next step is a matching head amp for use with moving coil cartridges.
