Audio Note AX2

Unread post by southall-1998 »

Are these a copy of the JPW P1 with more posh drivers? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audio-Note-AX ... 4ad6858e15

Anyway, 600 quid!

As far as I know all AN speakers are all based on Peter Snell designs.

I'm aware the bigger AN speakers are based on the Snell. Its the smaller AN speakers, they look ''JPW like''!

I had a pair of these many moons ago - lively little things, very easy to drive too and surprisingly 'Roydy' in their presentation once run in (which did take quite a while). I'd put money on them singing like a bird on the end of an AP10. Very nicely put together too.
Sources: Macbook/Sony CDP-X303ES/TEAC UD-H01 dac & Sony PS-6570/Benz Micro ACE SL
Making it louder: Sonneteer Sedley/Sonneteer Campion
Speakers: Royd Sapphire
Hooking it all up: NVA Soundcord & NVA LS6

£750 new so should be under £400 used! Seller is open to offers providing he is connected with reality.

If you look back a few years they are said to have been 550 dollars in the US so I think the price just have risen sharply. They do look a bit JPW but they have a reflex port. The cabinets look cheap but the tweeter looks to be a Scanspeak D2008 which I've always liked.
