He lived / lives in the Barbican, very strange 1970's modernistic flats. Three level l split stepping down to one end of the room being a window, no wall just window. He turned the speakers to face the window.

I have never understood these tweeters, for a start Kevlar is not a good material for tweeters, and to invert the dome is just daft, it creates a hollow for phase and harmonic problems to develop in it. All Impulse speakers use these tweeters.

They were new and different then, so offered a cachet of sorts I think. Mind you, a dome isn't the best shape for a tweeter apparently and I was told by a qualified person that a cone-dome affair may well work better. I believe there are some around now, a few with spiky bits in the middle. Doesn't matter to me any more as although I can't stand harshness, my threshold for high frequencies isn't good at all now due to Tinnitus. Doesn't stop me enjoying music though, as well as open-air live music if it's not too loud.

This was the origins of the most musical tweeter ever made. Made by AR.

And this is how Roy Allison improved it to be the best.

It is universally known as the nipple tweeter.
