Getting on a bit now (so's the CD player) but I really liked this model when I owned one. It's a good price too.

Aye, i think NAD CD players are okay, my brother still has am old 5420, and i think it sounds quite fine.

The 500 series players were really good as I remember and NEVER fatiguing to listen to, the excellent work done by Chris Evans (late of A&R Cambridge and currently Myryad I think still) feeding through subsequent designs. Only the grey plastic fronts really looked a bit cheap - and we all know I think, how visuals help make a buying purchase, even with audio.
