I listen for emotional connection, others listen for dynamics, 'deeetail' and rhythm. An old ex-colleague didn't like the Artera units either and I don't care for the Elite preamp myself - and there is a memory of some Chinese 909's coming through with crap caps fitted with disastrous effects on sonics which were also easily measurable (the dada website gives chapter and verse on this and it's not just them 'finding' the issue).
