Doc Modding a pair of Mission CP168 Bass/Mid Drivers

Unread post by Simon Hickie »

I have a pair of these https://www.hifi-selbstbau.de/datenbler ... on-cp168m3 from a previous project. Looking at the info they seem like candidates for Doc Modding to help deal with those peaks at around 3.8khz and 7khz. In the absence of a dust cap, I'd appreciate some suggestions about how to dope them: e.g. should I just plastidip the whole lot a few times with a bit extra in the middle, Bison Kit the middle then plastidip, just Bison Kit all the paper bit, or perhaps Damar varnish them with or without a followup coat or two of Plastidip. I'd be planning to pair the drivers with some SEAS 27TDFC tweeters with a 3.3uF cap (high passing from around 4khz) and resistor to taste. Many thanks.
