Anyway, sadly as I enjoy it, we should really should get back on topic and keep our Il Duce fun for "elsewhere on the web" and let Terry tell us about his Cubix.
I was kinda wondering when this would get back on topic. :D More later...

Hi Terry

I was wondering what is the gap you have between the back of the speaker and the wall I am toying with the idea of trying Cubix speakers. My present speakers are a meter out

Max half of that. Probably a lot less.

Mine isn't typical. The wall is a wooden panel and the speakers are maybe 50cm out. There's a photo if you care to look in the archive.

A metre out and I don't think they'd sound too good. As I say mine are 12 to 15 inches out.

I'll have to see what I can do with my amps as they sit behind the speakers.

Here's how I'm set up - all the amps are on those IKEA shelves behind the table with the record desk on.

However, your amps are just a bit bigger than mine.

if you increase picture to full size , you can see spikes , so my guess is protecting the floor from the spikes .

Marble drinks coasters actually. And yes, protecting the floor. Since been replaced with bits of wood but I think I might get some thicker lumps of stone or something to try and make up for the wooden floor. (Assuming I've read Richard's advice correctly).
