I was going to say something uncomplimentary about these speakers, since very few in the UK will buy new ones and I very much doubt they move the state of the art in speakers forwards, but I keep forgetting the 'Oligarch' market which drives makers like this. Different plane of existence to the likes of me.. I'll stick to the ancient things I use, safe in the knowledge that rather than losing value, they're actually appreciating right now ;)

Has Paul still got his wall-mounted Tannoy drivers, or was this a project from years ago that never came to anything?

The holes are still there, obviously with wooden blanking plates, and he cuts wood blanks and puts different drivers in to try occasionally. In fact I am sending him my Goodmans 1220c's for him to try in the wall.

Great day today - ice creams on the beach this afternoon - really mild until the sun went well down and the North Sea wind took over. Back to the grindstone again after a cuppa...

It was a real pleasure Doc. Thanks also for introducing Paul, who I do hope to keep in touch with. He clearly has a depth of experience worthy of attention and his generous spirit was most refreshing.

Hope you enjoyed some of the music shared, I'm going to revisit some of your choices this evening. Thought that the Nils Frahm album (The Bells) was great at illustrating the percussive impact of Piano that you were suggesting is often difficult to reproduce.

Only had two of six A80s running yesterday, so hope to get Paul's take on the full triamped system at some point in the future..

Paul is a very un-reviewer like reviewer. Just about all the others are trumped up egotistical pricks. But like all things in life most in person, apart from a notable couple, are fun and informative to be with. The problem is they have been fawned and wanked over by the trade to make them seem to themselves as important and clever, and it has gone to their heads, which is all a marketing exercises by the trade to try and get good reviews from them.

Paul is different which is why I have stayed in contact and we socialise. I see him now as probably the only one left with any real credibility. We disagree and argue about things but he will let me point out what I hear and why I hear it and listens to my opinion instead of always wanting to listen too his own voice. So I willingly do the same with him.

Make sure you collect those Cube stands from him they really make the Cubes boogy, but look like they are a broken off part of the Forth Bridge.
