Re: New!!!!! NVA CD players
Yes still just one.
Jammy did his usual as he did with Cubettes "I want it and will send you money" when pissed, and silence when sober
Macca says this weekend.
I will expect it to pick up and get to the 10 if it is going to with the next end of month wages, but if it doesn't no one loses out, you just lend me the money for a month

Re: New!!!!! NVA CD players
At the top you say a good dvd transport. I'm sure that I read a manufacturer somewhere but I can't spot it now.I'm wondering if it would play SACDs (obscure, I know - I only have one and I can only play it on a DVD player.

Re: New!!!!! NVA CD players
Like several others I am fascinated by this proposal - and now that I see that it is SACD compatible (and perhaps DVD-A as well?) it starts to become very intriguing.
But - I don't need a high-end standalone CD player, what I might want is a digital-only output SACD/DVD-A transport, (with NO analogue out, internal DAC or the power supply for it) What are the chances/prices of that Doc?

Re: New!!!!! NVA CD players
It is what it is going to be, I cannot do versions.
I may be giving Terry wrong inf, I just looked at what the transport can play, all normal CD and DVD types.
No SACD on the list.
USB and HDMI out as well as phono socket for digital out and two for analogue out.
I am just going to be doing what I did in the 90s with the first nva players. Power supplies and analogue output stage.

Re: New!!!!! NVA CD players
Grrrrr, bloody hell Doc!
I've got no room for one, I don't need one as I hardly ever listen to CDs and I really shouldn't buy one, BUT I BLOODY WANT ONE ! Just because it'll be fab and also extremely rare/cool.
So far the head is winning the battle, but only just.

Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)

Re: New!!!!! NVA CD players
I'm interested Doc and would sell my Rega transport and DAC to cover the cost. Let me think over the weekend as I'm sorting-out a house move just now.
Primare CD22. Primare DAB/FM radio. SSP to NVA AP70 and AP10H(JS) with Denon AH-D7100's. LS5 to Cube2's.

Re: New!!!!! NVA CD players
I've sent my deposit.
I'd urge anyone considering to go for it. Lots of very expensive players have the money spent on the aluminium fascia and a chunky mechanism. The rest is bog-standard. And the mech and the case have no bearing on the sound quality. The best players are those that have quality power supplies and discrete analogue output stages and if you wan that you have to buy a vintage hi-end Jap player which are expensive even used and old and hard/impossible to repair when they fail. And forget hi-res digital - it is the emperor's new clothes - sell your SACDs and just buy the damn record on cd for £2.99 - It is all in the replay, not the format.

Re: New!!!!! NVA CD players
Please don't think for a moment that Perspex cases are cheap. Good but simple metal casework bought in the hundreds or thousands is FAR cheaper on the whole, judging by the small amount of research I've done....
