As I said Ash , it is no skin off my nose either way, I am reacting to what feels like being nagged. I have done it before so there is no doubt I can do it again, nva rules and principles apply to anything hi-fi.

Great idea Doc. People talk let's see if they can put their money where their mouth is. I'm ripping all our CDs so I'm not interested but fantastic project if it happens. I so hope someone buys a statement one, would love to know for the money how it would compete against a similar priced CDP or your very own amazing Sony.
My Kit – I moved to home theatre setup sorry...Denon SR7011, Anthony Gallo A'Diva SE Fronts, SpeakerCraft Profile AIM LCR3 One Rears, BK Electronics XLS200-DF MK2 Sub, Epson Projection.

But I would love a cheeky little AP10, AP20 sort of amp for a bedroom setup...

How much of the donor unit did you Use Doc? Was it just the transport or transport plus dac and what mods? Just power supply changes or more like better master clock? Do NAD still use proper CD transports or are they DVD?

Sorry post makes no sense, unless I have been writing things in my sleep.

Are you talking about the 1990s units or what I propose now. And what has this got to do with anything anyway.

The drip drip effect, your was just the final drip.

I think the chance of it happening is slim as it is the ultimate test of purpose to be asked to cough up dosh. But at the very least it means I have tried, so everyone can then shut up! BUT if they are wanted I am happy to do them, it is what I am here for, I am just not going to spend time and money on new product on a chance, at the moment, I have too many other things to do.

Wish I needed a CD player as I'm intrigued by this project, fingers crossed 10 people actually commit. It's a fantastic way to decide if a product is worth building, bit like kickstarting a project.

Out of interest what would the players specs be, I know nothing about CD players but I guess the DAC used is so important, hence why your Sony sounds so amazing.

Applemarc – surely you should complete the NVA statement set and buy a statement one? ;)
