Computer hi-fi thingy mi bob
I am about to start messing about building something cheap to sit between computer and amp, call it what you want. It is a Chinese DAC PCB and USB to SPDIF and other bits that sound pretty good to me, with me playing with power supplies and analogue output. It will sit in a PSU box for now. When content with it I will get a couple of your ears involved, aiming at under £200.
No controls, no switches, no headphones, no lights. It is a black box that does what it does.

Digital circuits all seem to benefit enormously from clean and powerful PSU's.

Re: Computer hi-fi thingy mi bob
Much different project. CD player required MINIMUM INVESTMENT for me to do it, didn't happen. This doesn't, parts a dead easy to find and buy, jobby is dead easy. No donor unit required which was main problem with CD player. AND Jammy don't rewrite history. The CD player was a response to you lot keeping asking (NAGGING) me, so I said well OK but its up to you lot, and it was you lot (not enough of you) that fecked it up. Again this is different.
