The suspension and bases on the NVA was completely different, it is what made it good, material change to acrylic if you wish but the design must stay or you just have a different Mantra, not an upgraded NVA Senior.

OK Doc that's good information. I did struggle with the notion of why you would have retained compression sprung suspension when it is nothing but a compromise.

I also notice from pictures that you had two designs for the Senior, one with a split plinth and perhaps an earlier one which had a one piece plinth?

I'm now confused about the suspension. One of the posters on Lenco Heaven (ex owner) describes it as 'upside down suspension'. Then surely adjustment thro' the top plate would be possible and avoid messing around underneath a la Linn.

Split plinth was an experiment, only one made, not worth the hassle.

It is two plinths / plates. One has the bearing and platter and arm. The other has the motor. There are four springs one on each corner between the plates, and half squash balls underneath. Normal springs not conical. They are readily available, I just tried a few to get the spring rate I wanted, but don't ask what that was, too many years ago.

There is no adjustment, nor does there need to be. You should all know me by now, simple solutions that work.

Yep they do & this is a Couple conclusions my ears came to.

Two examples:

I always thought the Linn 'Axis' sounded better than the 'LP12'
I always thought the Pink Triangle 'LPT' sounded better than the 'PT1/2'

Both my preferences are not bouncy bouncy decks. Same with the Mission '775' TT great deck but no one bothers with it.

Alfi:
How are you going to incorporate Acrylic into the Top? How i see that top board is a solid piece with the half round groove machined into it.

Remake the original Design, it will sell.
