Can you tell us more about the 'Senior' Turntable. I remember it but never ever heard one! Do you still have one?

Re: NVA Turntable
Been doing some research Doc and have ideas for a main bearing based on Mantocore's megabearing concept. I would also like to incorporate Acrylic for the top plate and plinth, with Polycarbonate for the platter which I feel could also incorporate the sub platter- as a one piece unit.
Also see that the mantra had conical compression spring not unlike Linn's, but they were set in a much more logical geometry and the small circular arm-board was connected properly to the stiff and most probably lighter sub-chassis. I my design in tension spring suspension or use my advanced polymer jobbies that I use on my LP12
Alfi.

Re: NVA Turntable
Personally I would look into inverted bearings based on how good the Michell design works. Not sure if any need for mega massive bearings unless the platter is super heavy such as Notts and a lot of German TTs. Maybe some mileage in alternative materials such as ceramic? Also springs that sit above the sub chassis (hanging) offer greater stability and afford easy adjustment from the top.

Re: NVA Turntable
There is a guy on here ('Poncheboy') who built his own TT from parts he claims Doc let him have when he worked for NVA.
