A couple of famous Model Workers

Aleksey Grigoryevich Stakhanov (Russian: Алексе́й Григо́рьевич Стаха́нов, IPA: [staˈxanəf]; 3 January 1906 – 5 November 1977) was a Russian Soviet miner, Hero of Socialist Labor (1970), and a member of the CPSU (1936). He became a celebrity in 1935 as part of what became known as the Stakhanovite movement – a campaign intended to increase worker productivity and to demonstrate the superiority of the socialist economic system.[1]

Lei Feng – China's most famous model worker was Lei Feng, a soldier in the People's Liberation Army who died in 1962 at the age of 22. After his death, Lei was picked to be the face of a propaganda campaign "Learn from Comrade Lei Feng", and praised as a selfless and modest worker who was devoted to Chairman Mao.

I can't see how your average middle aged but comfortable financially musical reproduction enthusiast is going to relate to those two examples Paul.

In all the years that I've been into hi-fi (since 1965) I can honestly say that what a product is called has NEVER been part of the process of me deciding what to buy.

What history NVA has, is surely worthy of preserving in some way or other. The acrylic construction is a USP (unique selling point) as is the emphasis on simplicity of circuit design (no unnecessary parts) and good quality materials.

I think (really think) that trying to relaunch the brand with a rubbish name will do you, or the brand no favours.

The name "Artisan" is growing on me, but I'd still like to see the "old" alpha/numeric designations retained, if only to retain continuity to those who know a bit about the brand.

So, what's your problem, then?

None of that has changed. In fact, upgraded components have enhanced the USP.

I don't think it's rubbish. I've invited you to come up with an alternative name that captures this amp's utilitarian purpose and increased productivity. Have you got anything?

VA rating is a much more relevant marker of hierarchy in the NVA range than watts. Everything that Richard wrote on the subject would tell you that, and my empirical learning tells me the same.
