Hi folks.
Why are they called HIFI Dealers ?
I for some strange reason always associate the word Dealer as being....
Dodgy....You know Sharks....Not very nice people....Swindlers....And con artists....ETC
Would'nt it be nicer to call them High Fidelity Sales Personell........!!!!!

Why such a downer on Hi-Fi 'retailers?' I know Richard is friends with a very good, ex, dealer/retailer. Nigel of Chantry Audio in Tuxford. I very much enjoyed using his facilities and benefitting from the years of experience and advice he had. The things I purchased from him were well worth the cost and brought real improvements to my system. If you don't want to pay the markup price for the cost of kit, shop, listening rooms and staff....then don't! But some, not all, do a very good job and offer a genuine service.
I will admit that they are in the minority nowadays though... All I can say is 'chillout dude!'

Because they rip you off, and if you met Nigel now he would admit he ripped everyone off 
but was very friendly and gave very good service while he was doing it though. At one stage he became Absolute Sounds largest AV dealer and he was embarrassed at how much those systems cost and the profits involved.
He is now a *cured* hi-fi retailer and enjoying his life far more.
It is the sole purpose of a retailer to rip you off, he has no other function.

Nope, they are mexican drug dealers bankers who forgot to mention to the authorities that they launderd some 5 BILLION!! for them. I do believe they do all own linn/naim systems however, its the synergy criminals buying gear with "criminal" profit margins :D
