So did we get to the bottom of what makes a small speaker sound big ? :think:

Semi-omni configuration.

Or playing tricks with frequency response.

I would say ports - but that usually just makes a sound like 'big farts'.

If that is the case then all small speakers should be semi omni :shhh:

In fact, sometime I am going to convert my little MS902S (the ones I wielded a chainsaw on and offended people on AoS) in to semi omni operation. Pity i glued 6 mm steel to the the top panel as that will have to come off and go on the inside of the front baffle.

I have been eying up some monacor 5.5 inchers for that as the MS continuous aluminum cone jobbies don't dope well :naughty:
