Went to hospital to have my first check up. Everything's ok

The consultant showed me the brain scans they did while I was having the stroke and some 6 weeks later. There so big , I don't know why I'm not vegetable.

It as effected the fine control of anything and everything ,it is a wonder I have made the recovery at all let alone the one I have.
Now I'm just wondering if the scans are representative of my brain damage and if it can be repaired. Back to physio tommorow

Today the physio been and I'm feeling much better.

We talked about my images and the fact they don't show everything and we talked about Neuro plasticity and how everything up for grabs as the Neuro pathways are plastic and the belief is that brain functions will find a new place to work.

So I'm still forced to look at my pt but my tablet and sennheiser headphones are a viable alternative .

Went to pub with anna and talked about it and we decided it could be worse I could be dead

Ps lack of pluralisation is left hand laziness not the effects of the stroke.

Pps , stroke is such in inaccurate word to describe what as happened, it sounds like i succumbed to got a gentle caress

Yes DQ, you were very unlucky to have had a stroke, but very bloody lucky to have survived it - many don't.

My wife says that I'm naturally a negative person but I disagree by saying I'm a realist. However, in the case that I survived what I went through 11 years ago I am very lucky to still be here and so are you!

It's a long hard road, (you may or may not make a full recovery) and you will sink into depression quite often, but you will slowly improve. You have to be positive to be there for your wife and children as they have suffered too so think of them and be as happy as you can be.

Best wishes.

Alfi.

Today did more physio and stand up exercises. My right leg is more co-ordinated with my left ,but they still act like they belong to separate people.

Then had some lunch before I did my part 2 of my exercises . Part of this is the tens machine ,which sends electric pulses to my muscles and makes it move. Whilst wearing this for a laugh I found the aos 'dq' thread. Well actually it was honest and heart felt, I was actually impressed. One entry did make me laugh ywanker described me a Richards henchman and a pretend lawyer. Unfortunately I'm neither of those at the minute.
