Confused and annoyed by my 5.5 inch Kevlars drivers sounding faster than the 8inch JPW ap2 vifa drivers , I have been reading a lot about drivers with the intention of replacing the 8inch vifa driver in the JPW’s with another .

I even joined DIY audio for some suggestions of drivers . Alas , it aint possible to come to a decision , the measurements mean nothing . size of magnent ,type of magnents , voice coil diameter , qts , qms , DC resistance (Re), voice coil inductance (Le): ,Effective piston area (Sd): Moving Mas, Force factor . You simply cant tell what it would sound like from these , indeed the only meaningful measurement appears to size info .
So with this in mind I though i would experiment . Get a load of drivers of ebay and see what i can learn .
I have recently won on ebay , a pair of 8 inch mission 7oo drivers (£6} and some 1972 wharfedale drivers {£20} with big square magnets .
So i will be replacing them and listening to them as soon as possible .

I will sell you two of my 8 inch Kevlar drivers for £60 plus postage if you don't tell anyone what they are (though all labels are removed).

If you don't like them return for refund as I can still use them.

Do you want me to dope them for you or leave them as plain Kevlar.

I'd probably say to get 'em doped! I may be confusing Kevlar with Kapton coils, but my gut feeling says to dope them...

Yup, I can get the drivers out of my store room over the weekend and dope them, they will be dry by Tuesday. Sending will be £12 by UPS. No charge for doping, is about 30 mins work and materials are next to nothing in price.
