I'm starting to think that hi-fi cables should be treated in a similar way to food products. With food products you get a list of ingredients, plus salt, fat, sugar content. With hi-fi cables you should get a list of the metals used in the conducting cores, as well as a cross sectional diagram giving dimensions of the conducting core.

It is a Black Art Lyndsay, which is why it seems magic. I can tell you that what you ask for is only about half the story, but I am buggered if i am going to help people understand it. I have been ripped off enough thank you.

However, this particular one isn't black art, it's an ethernet cable. It has a very specific function and it is well specified. If it meets the spec, it's do what it says on the tin, if it doesn't meet the spec it either will not work at all or produce pretty obvious problems.

Looks like Chord advertising has been complained about before
