My Atacama stands are sand filled. If placing some blutack underneath my JPW ML-110i speakers, should I continue using the floor spikes?
The flooring is carpet.

Re: Blutack Question.
+1
Floor spikes do help with stability on carpets though, especially with smaller speakers. Blue-tac gets into nice woodgrain finishes and is almost impossible to remove, so I prefer to use bump-on style little feet between stand and speaker. never did our dem speakers any harm sonically and the undersides were well protected from scratching when they were lifted/slid from display-shelf to stand and back again.
RS do some nice ones, which is what I used - code number 248 - 451
if you ask him nicely I'm sure the Doc might let you have some of the little black bump-ons he uses in production

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...

Re: Blutack Question.
Much as I like to blu-tack my speakers to heavy stands for safety, (of the speakers), reasons, I find that it deadens the bass. I use three of the little tiny clear rubber buffers that you get on kitchen cabinet doors and they work really well. For the base I always use spikes.

Just to throw the proverbial in the works, does anyone have any views on the use of Sorbothane pads/hemispheres?

Re: Blutack Question.
De-couple. All soft wobbly things including springs de-couple, they are mechanical filters. Though as with all things there are no absolutes and the only way to completely de-couple is to float. So everything wobbly including Soborthane has a resonant frequency at which the item couples or amplifies - no free lunch - only suck and see.
Perfection = absolute couple to an infinite mechanical earth or inversely de-couple by floating in air water or slightly less effective, oil. Think car springs and shocks, you still feel the road!

Re: Blutack Question.
I guess these are pretty decoupled !
