CD isolation platform
Anyone have any experience of, or opinions on, CD isolation platforms?

Re: CD isolation platform
They are just extra shelves they don't isolate anything.
These people should learn English.

Thank you. They're pushing the virtues of sorbothane as an isolating medium. Wasn't quite sure what the CD player was to be isolated from....

Re: CD isolation platform
I tried some Acrylic sheet 15mm under my CD player to see if miracles/transformations happened. They didn't. Sheet is still there is made no difference. But if you listen mainly with Headphones (and AP10H) why would you need to isolate your CD player? Affects of nearby heavy industry hammering steel perhaps?

The Planet is non-standard as the feet for the machine act as the only 'suspension' for it. Put one too near the speakers and it will surely skip... Most other CD players have ample mechanical isolation inside, although some enthusiasts still claim to hear differences in supports.

Rip the CDs to storage and play using a simpler solution. Ultimate isolation?

Yes, but yet another step made before you listen to it. I don't care what anyone says, I can't see how you can transfer information between one thing and another without some detriment however small, just my view. My Tube Tech CD player didn't seem to respond much to being placed on different surfaces but did, strangely, sound rather different if you placed it on spikes. I flitted back and forth then settled on the spikes.
