I have an old Pioneer T/T in the loft that I bought from Cash Converters about 20 years ago for £30. I got it down this afternoon. To my surprise, it's a PL-71. It looks a bit sorry for itself but there doesn't seem to be any actual damage other than one of the feet has lost it's spring. It runs but I can't test fully as no cartridge.

It needs someone who will give it the TLC and technical expertise that it deserves. Offered free to forum members on the basis that it is for your use and enjoyment, and you report on the restoration here at HFS. Must be able to collect from Durham. Cups of tea and Cube1 demo also available :grin:

The thing that worries me about the 707 is all the switches look to be push buttom ones not rotary like the 71. More to go wrong ? Also it is fully automatic - is all this extra complexity really needed ?

The PL71 is all push button as well.

Oh, i did not realise that.

Who bought the 707 on ebay ? Come on own up.

I decided not to because of distance. After my Marantz speaker experience with couriers i will only pick up now.

It was withdrawn by the look of it, not sold. The guy probably realised it was worth more than he was asking.
