Hi Fi Answers

Unread post by Colin Wonfor »

I have just seen a proof copy of a review of one on my amps to be published next week Answers and I was happy to see UK Designer who have earned respect, And the Doc is one of the top I was chuffed.

The UK list as it appears.

• Chris Bryant (XTC and Orelle)
• Richard Dunn (NVA) (our Doc)
• Bob Stuart ( the older Meridian stuff)
• Dr. Bews of LFD Audio plus others a bit too obscure to go into here.
• Colin Wonfor.
It can be done so imagine it.

Well done Richard.

Nick Gorham should be on there , a most talented and successful designer. 8-)

What is hi-fi answers, is it that blog continually spammed on AOS.

Well a compliment would be someone who mattered saying it, not some nondescript knobhead. Anyway I don't accept it, if you mean by musical results of products, then Ok, but both Nick and Colin would run rings around me in technical terms.

Well, a bit more time needed to see how successful I am, and not sure what talent means in this context, I suspect, means you are a bit mad. Thanks for the namecheck, but I think I should be somewhat further down the list at the moment, and there are a few names that should be there, Tim P for one, Stan Curtis another, Andy Grove is another who has stood the test of time.

And of course Professor Malcolm Halksford should never be forgotten. But as Richard said, its just a list by someone AFAIK who wouldn't know the early effect if it jumped out and bit him. And of course none of us would probably be here if it wasn’t for Blumlein
