PL71 Advice Needed
There's a PL71 available and I'm very tempted but need some guidance from the forum so......
What are the pitfalls of the tt ? Is there anything I should specifically look for or if it sounds good it must be electrically and mechanically good.....
The tt comes with a cartridge but it's a mm. I'm not biased in favour of a mc but my phono 2 is set to mc so there's an extra bit of hassle in getting the Doc to do the conversion. So what do the forum use ?
Regards

Re: PL71 Advice Needed
Check if the speed wanders, if it does you have to replace the microswitches under the speed buttons, not a hard job and they are standard things you can buy at Maplin etc. Detachable headshell so just get a MC to go with it and sell the MM. Apart from that if it works then it works, enjoy

You can have mine as I have the G99 as well. It is £500 as it has expensive feet on it.

Re: PL71 Advice Needed
Doc, I have sent a pm as I don't think that we need to continue this discussion in public.

Re: PL71 Advice Needed
I can't moan at Terry as I can't send a pm ! Terry, please accept this as a moan in public. Please can you make the pm facility idiot proof. PFM have just "upgraded" and their website is now horrible to navigate.
