:grin: DSJR thanks for your advice. Played some records tonight and realised that when the arm is luffed from anywhere other than the end of the disc, it rides up vertically so I’m really not bothered.

I did play some records from the start to the end of the side which is how I noticed the “problem” - gives an idea of how much I like the 71

There’s a PL1400 for sale on eBay. It’s in Japan so 110 volts. Perhaps is a Japan only product but lols similar to a PL71.

100V version for Japanese home market. 2 other differences, clear lid and rubber mat .

Possible to swop out tranny for Pl71 or PL55 one? Gonna be costly though with carriage and import duty. Glad I got my PL71 years ago
