Hi David
I know this is going to sound like a bit of a cop-out but it basically has the same musicality as the Phono 2 but on steroids! Honestly it sounds the same only much more of it. I've always struggled to get a realistic soundstage in my room. The Phono 2 did a pretty good job but it wasn't what I'd call expansive. The Phono 3 has finally given me the depth I'm looking for but keeps everything realistically sized unlike some equipment that can make a solo singer's head seem like it's 3 feet wide and just in front of your nose!
If you hadn't noticed, I like it a lot!!

So, Doc, the Cubix; Is it "just" a pair of Cube 1s stacked? Would I add a pair to mine or trade mine in for new Cubix?
(I did do a bit of searching but couldn't find what I'm looking for).

It is the Cubix Pro that is modular, and with built in amps that can go from one up to two up to three modules in stages. There are two sets of those out there one a three stage and one a two stage. There is only one set of Cubix out there as I listed for you, they used to be Terry Booths but he upgraded to 2 part Cubix Pro. The three part Cubix Pro are with Applemarc, he was mumbling a while back he might sell them as he has an on going and getting worse ear problem.

Cube 1 to Cubix is only trade in.
