Turntable Power Supply

Unread post by Rectified »

Ive been looking long & hard for a Turntable Power supply i can use with my Turntable to switch speed. As my main source of Vinyl playback are 12" singles which are always two different speeds taking the platter off all the time is a pain & makes me touch the aluminium Platter causing finger prints

Not only are they thin on the ground i cannot get to grips as to where they get the prices from! I have been searching for year over an old HFN Flutter buster but with no joy.. I remember Logic doing an outboard Speed changer PSU but for thr Airpax motor, Not sure that would work with the Swizz motor in mine!

I really dont want to be forced to sell this deck but i may have to if i dont source an Electronic speed changer

Project Speedbox if AC.

I think Heed also do one.

Bastin PS might work if you require same voltage as Notts Analogue.

Will they work with the STD AC Sync Motor which is not an Airpax?

Heed's Orbit 1 is also a very tidy option for AC sync motors, with 33.33 and 45 rpm at the touch of a button. As long as it is a 110V 250 RPM synchronous motor it should work fine as would the Hercules and Pro-ject mentioned earlier.

You mention a Swiss motor? If it's a Papst AC motor make sure it's not a 750 RPM version as Voyd used, as the off board supplies mentioned would not be suitable.

Some research and the 305M/S have 110v motor believed to be similar to Thorens.

Thats right simular to the Thorens, only the '305D' uses a DC motor.. I tried an 'Orbit' when i had a Systemdek 'II' Made the motor vibrate like hell on 45rpm..

'305D' would be the answer to all my prayers tbh.

Odd that the Orbit made the Systemdek motor vibrate at 45 RPM. I've fitted loads for folk with LP12's and Rega's and they have been fine.

Looks like the Heed Orbit is OK but Speedbox DS is for 16v and 230v motors.
