Re: earphones
The single comment I found on Head-fi is not exactly encouraging about the ATH CM707

Re: earphones
Honest opinions from impartial owners are few and far between on Headfi. Its the biggest commercial masquerade on the web.

Re: earphones
Those seems to be only available in Japan - that suggest a tuning for that market specifically - might be a good thing - but in my experience is far from what I would call a fun sounding HPs...

Re: earphones
Regarding the AT headphones, the description amused me with the 'lost in translation' wording such as:
"...eliminates the deviation of the listening point by applying the crank handle using the elastomer material with high elasticity..."
Reminded me of "One ot' cross beams gone owt o scew ont treddle"
Of course, it could be a perfectly scientific audio description of the earphones and I'm merely laughing at my own ignorance.
Sennheiser MX365 are top of my list for now.

NVA amps, speakers, interconnects & speaker cables produce the music.

Re: earphones
I think whilst they may have different presentations, there really isn't that much difference in these ear buds, one £20 to £100 pair is pretty much the same as another.

Re: earphones
I've used a lot of different earbuds through the years and there are considerable differences. Most have rubbish SQ but some are surprisingly good.Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Fri Mar 23, 2018 10:41 am I think whilst they may have different presentations, there really isn't that much difference in these ear buds, one £20 to £100 pair is pretty much the same as another.

Re: earphones
Apart from the Yuin PK2 buds (which I still occasionally use) there was one from Sony, the MDR888 which had a truly excellent sound - and they could be modded as well
They came in a cool case which looks like an insect. Still have that but the buds are long gone - worn out from excessive use.

Re: earphones
>>>Thread revival<<<
It's only taken two years for me to buy a new set of earphones. "Slow and steady..."
I've gone for Sennheiser MX 365 ear buds.
Comparing to the Sony 90s ear buds being used for late night radio duties and these new buds are easier to drive. Only need to roll the volume slightly to release the music. The Sonys have an in line volume rotary contol which, even left fully open, holds the music back a tad.
So the Senns give a stronger sound, nice and clear with more bass than the old Sony buds. With the ten quid portable radio as source late night radio sounds even better.
