Topping DAC's are just absurdly good for the price and sound clean, powerful and pleasant.

Simply enjoy it. :grin: :guiness;

I don't know if it's any good, but at a stated 20000mAh and dual 5v/3A Fast Charging it's worth a chance for £14.34 today, normal price £17.00. If nothing else It'll give me a spare if I revert to a Tinker Board setup.
The powerbank arrived today, first impression: It's heavy like a brick.
It comes with a VERY short charging lead, and something not mentioned in the ad, a little plug-in "wand" which is nice and bendy, and has a little light panel on the end. Great for illuminating those "hard-to-reach" places and keep both hands free. It's got the standard LED torch function too.

It's still at he same price, and if you're looking for a new powerbank I'd recommend this one as great value for money.

The delta has arrived, waited for a couple hours for it to warm up to room temperature before i powered it up just to be on the safe side as it was pretty cold.

Sounds quite alot better than the squeezebox does when playing the same songs, which were ripped from the same cds that the delta is playing.

Now to me, data is data, and i would have thought that it should be pretty much the same, as the sb is feeding the dac the same data as the delta is.
Unless not all digital output boards are made equal.
or something is being lost or added by the wifi data transfer to the sb.
Or perhaps transports do make a difference

Welcome back old friend

Wifi isn't the most stable of data links - wired ethernet will give better results, certainly for audio purposes.

I have my Apple TV 3 plugged directly into my router, and my Topping D50 DAC eight next to it. I can’t really say it sounded any different compared to the Wi-fi connect I used before, but I don’t get drop outs before.
If someone stood in front of the router, music would stop playing. Now, sorted. I did notice an bump in quality with Tooping external
Power supply over standard lead. That surprised me. Topping DACS offer phenomenal value for money!

I’ve used an Apple TV 3 before onto a dac & direct to the router- not a bad quality- I only changed as I wanted a unit with built in display of ‘current playing’

There is a guy on eBay who sells Sony & kenwood cdps (cdp770 etc) with a modified VALVE output stage- anyone any experience- I used to have a Sony cdp770 in standard form and it was shocking compared to my Meridian 208

Having had the delta and the topping dac in use for a couple of weeks now, i have to say that im very happy with the combo. Ive gone through alot of my old cds, most of which were bought over 20 years ago. Its been a trip down memory lane, listening to stuff i listened to in my room as a teenager, as loud as i could stand.
Through the original delta 170 black box 3 combo (that i had to fix as a cat had pissed in it and killed it...... mi dad couldnt bear to part with it even though it was busted. Wasnt bustedwhen id done with it but it was always temperamental after) a nad 3020 (then a nad c340 and a musical fidelity a3), and a pair of gale minimonitors ( then linn index 2s, kef q15s, then q55s, then quad 11Ls).
Stuff like the first garbage album in 1995, first foo fighters album, dsotm and led zeppelin 4 ( those 2 were the first music i ever had myself, mi dad had multiple copies so i was given them when i asked for some music. Might explain some things)
Then i got into placebo, stereophonics, the obligatory at the time blur and oasis, suede, the verve, ocean colour scene, stone roses, the prodigy et cetera.
All interspersed with bits and pieces from mi dads then dormant record collection.
On his mothballed lp12 that i dug out and comandeered. Loads of 50s jazz, tangerine dream, the police, u2, human league, anything i could get my hands on.
Made me rather wistful. And happy
