I have a Gullwing SLR which I think is excellent. I’ve also heard a Glider in many occasions and it’s great VFM IMO.

I can't get on with the low end ones, the silver and the gold, had a gold on my Yamaha pf800 and I could never get the top end to sound anything but rough as a badgers arse. It's not just the dl103 I dislike
But the glider and alis gullwing are outstanding

Another Gullwing SLR here, lovely, very even-handed.
Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)

Good advice on the gold/silver models- those appear to be the most common on eBay
Still feel I may get another Grado but I think I need to up my budget- never spent more than £200 on a cartridge- new / used

A recommendation for a 200 odd quid Mc, I'd look at the audio technica af-f7. It is abit finicky to set up, vta needs to be bang on ime, can get shout if it's not
For a 200 odd quid mm, audio technica vm540. Not so finicky, nice and even sounding

I had a benz micra ace l. It was beautiful.

However I paid £350 from Japan for it, as opposed to £595. It is now no longer available from Japan and costs at least 700 quid.

I run a Benz LP, that's the range topper prior to the current LP-S. Excellent cart, a real open window onto the recording.
