google number generator

A friend bought this and has ‘forgotten’ its purpose- does anyone recognise this and shed some light- he believes its for phono but not sure if it’s a step up or pre amp- has a 100ka pot

Well it has a 9V battery psu with smoothing caps and a 100k pot. That to me says it is an active pre amp or buffer. Also could be phono and volume pot combined but that limits you to only vinyl source.
