I'd say it's probably a lot more important than many people credit. More important? I'm not so sure. A poor DAC will sound poor whatever you feed it with, and a great DAC can't do a great deal to improve a crap signal. It's when we get into the realms of decrapifiers and re-clockers that the lines start to get blurred.

Don't forget how important the PSU is to any DAC. Having discovered Allo last year and their excellent Boss Rpi dac it responds very well to increasingly better quality PSU's albeit at increasing cost. Sounds a bit like NVA gear !

I think we need to talk to Health & Safety about that green Brennenstuhl Hugo 4-way. A bit of a trip hazard there.

No, it's the green tablets I'm feeding him that are the 'trip' hazard... ;)

Are you using serial numbers now?
No particular reason for the question I just thought it strange that they never had one.
Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)

Almost forgot, I popped in to see Vinyl-Ant, on Tuesday, before I picked Tomasz up from the airport. This followed me home from Ant's...
