Re: Your last listen
I'm sat around with a streaming nose and a touch of the 'flu today, so I have nothing better to do than bore you all with my interminable reminiscences. But ...
It does get me a chance to listen to a few discs. Yay!
Picked up recently in a clearance sale is the 3CD set 'Director's Cut' from Kate Bush.
She decided that some songs from a couple of her albums hadn't come out as well as they could have and decided to re-record and re-work them. So in this set you have a disc of reworked tracks taken from 'Sensual World' and 'Red Shoes'. Discs 2 and 3 are straight remastered editions of those two albums and the whole comes in a luxurious book packaging.
I had never actually heard 'The Red Shoes' before and will have to give it a few listens. 'Sensual World' I had thought to be a bit gloomy and introspective - but now I hear a gloriously refreshed album with stunning, yearning vocal performances from Kate and an album that is brilliantly put together.
