At the end of the 80's, a young Silje Nergaard moved from the small town of Hamar - just north of Oslo - to try and make it as a pop-star in the bustling London music-scene.
She recorded 2 albums: 1990's 'Tell Me Where You're Going', a fresh and lightly jazzy effort that sparked a hit with a Pat Metheny (gasp!) reworked version of the title song.
Her 1991 release 'Silje' has a slicker production and sounds very like Level 42.

This bid for stardom didn't succeed and Silje returned to Norway, there she made a few LP's in her native language which gave her some local recognition. Then she reinvented herself as a Jazz artist and broke through internationally with the excellent 2001 album 'At First Light'.
