Re: Your last listen
James Morrison - The Great American Songbook.
I watched the Jazz prom featuring him and Diane Reeves and their tributes to Dizzy Gillespie and Ella. Hopefully still on iPlayer if you want.

Re: Your last listen
That was a great list, Dave. Some good stuff there.
When I came over to live in Holland I got myself a CD copy of Golden Earring's classic 'Moontan' (the one with THAT cover).
To my shock it was a different album than I remembered from way back when. it didn't open with 'Radar Love' and the prog workout 'Big Tree. Blue Sea' had been replaced by two rather average rock songs. Finally tracked down a US copy with the more familiar running order and a 'clean' front cover (boring!).
Still an amazing listen ....

Re: Your last listen
I first heard Moontan 'side 2' on a Radio Oxford broadcast at the time (in mono, but excellent fidelity which sadly doesn't apply to BBC FM radio* these days). My late 70's vinyl cut ('that' cover) sounds dull, almost as if it comes from a worn stamper - Epic seemed to do this often, wearing out their stamping metalwork out before a re-cutback then. The vinyl's in the garage (it's ok, it's survived), but the music hard drive is but a click away and Radar Love was the only track I could immediately access...
* Slightly smug comment on another forum by a speaker company owner/designer about a recent visit by a BBC engineer. A good laugh was apparently had by all when discussing BBC radio broadcast quality, FM in particular... For me when working, 'Steve Wright In The Afternoon' is unlistenable, so bad is the pumping compression/Optimod

Carla Bonhoff - New World. An artist I know nothing about, and an album I purchased on the off chance, great music and recording. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01-aokVhk58
