After reading some disparaging remarks about the band Sky recently I thought I'd start playing my way through their back catalogue to see if they really were as enjoyable as I remembered. 2 albums in and I'm still enjoying myself. Apart from anything else I'm a sucker for Kevin Peek's guitar sound.
The sound quality of the recordings is fairly clinical to my ears (not something bad in my book, it mostly suits the type of music) and hearing it through my NVA amplification and my Monitor Audio Silver RX2 speakers for the first time seems to be just about the perfect combo for it. Size really does matter apparently, that extra 2" (the RX2s are stand mounted with 8" bass/mid drivers) really counts sometimes.
