“I’m walking around, on the SSSTTHtreet again,
Thinking it ouTHT on my own”
Thankfully, clean as a whistle now I no longer have to suffer with the abomination that was the Linn K18

Including a beautiful rendition of the miners hymn, Gresford. But, then, it would take some effort to produce a rendition that isn't beautiful..it's such a wonderfully emotive composition. Oop my way, the annual Durham Miners Gala features scores of brass bands from the villages that surround the city. They parade from 3 sides of the city, carrying colourful and intricately embroidered pit banners, and accompanied by friends and family (often with the exuberance of a stag or hen party and frequently shouldering cases of lager) to a showground by the river Wear. Just before they get there, each band stops outside the County Hotel on Old Elvet, turns to face the balcony (populated by union officials and, usually, the Labour Party leader) and plays a tune. When they play Gresford, the world just seems to stop...

Also looking forward to the new Nightwish album. They are in Cardiff in December but have not got a ticket as we could be away at that time. Last time it was more a case of hearing them than seeing them as it was chucking it down at Download 2016 (Iron Maiden headlining) when they were on and the bar was under cover.
That was my first outdoor festival for thirty years after a similar wet experience at the Deep Purple Mk 2 reunion. Never Agoin.
