I've just started watching The Flaming Lips on iPlayer. I'll probably try to watch Lorde, and Liam Gallagher at some stage too.

Best of what I've seen were The Pretenders, and Elbow were their usual wonderful selves.
There you go, different strokes, :grin: no complaints about his band but BG's falsetto singing is patchy at best.

London Grammar is another complaint, good as they are but i am bored with the sameness of their music,
good singer and ripe for a solo career i feel, maybe something different will prevail.

Just watching The Foo Fighters on BBC iPlayer. Wow! Whatever Dave Grohl's on, I want some.

Texas at Ipswich Regent last night.
I had heard them on radio 2 last Saturday and thought Sharleen had "lost it" but last night was excellent - best I have heard her.

Saw Dr Hook starring Dennis Locarriere last night. He still has a great voice. Really enjoyed the gig and the set list could not be faulted.

Last saw them 40 years ago, the fateful night when Joe Jorden's hand ball denied Wales a place in the World Cup. Going back even further, I recall buying "Sylvia's mother" with my pocket money.

I'm off to watch a band called Wille and the Bandits on Thursday night at The Deaf Institute in Manchester. I've not seen them before, but their two albums are excellent, very hard to classify. A bit rock, a bit funk, a bit roots, a bit reggae, a bit of everything really. My mate saw them last year not knowing what to expect and was blown away.

Googled and found 'miles away' on Youtube, tight outfit with some great guitar work,
as you said cross genre and quite Psychedelic in places and slide guitar work Gilmour would be proud of,
good stuff, enjoy the gig. :guiness;

Well, Wille and the Bandits were as expected excellent, as was the support act Claude Hoy (Aussie one-man band).

The Deaf Institute is a wonderful venue. Only a small room for the acts but a very intimate one nonetheless. A great evening was had by all.

Behind the bar in the music room may be of interest to fellow forumites, can you name them all?
