Saw the Bootleg Beatles for the first time last night and they were very good. There were string and brass sections and I think this explained the amount of material from 1967. All of the eras were covered with five different costumes. If you like the Beatles and they are in town well worth seeing.

Saw Fish last night on the 30th anniversary "Clutching at straws" tour. It is my favourite Marillion album and was a good night. He has a good band. The Darkness are in town tonight but will give it a miss as it is not that long since I saw them and I have a lot on this month.

It has been quite a year for gigs and I don't think I have had one like it. Bands i have seen include Black Sabbath (last concert in Birmingham), Yes (in all but name), Deep Purple, Iron Maiden and Dream Theatre.

Brilliant last time I saw him there.

Interesting set and the return of Paul Gray takes them up a couple of notches...

Saw Magnum last night. Played a very good and lengthy set dominated by the best of the newish material from the last 15 years. The 80s classics came towards the end. Tony Clarkin has written some great songs over the past 40 years and Bob Catley's voice has stood the test of time. I met the band and got autographs at a record store prior to seeing them two years ago. The record store is not there any more, a sign of the times.
