You should be able to get hold of the two 'Virgin Years' sets fairly easily (and cheaply) they contain everything that made TD great !

Yes, its the vinyl I ordered, got an email saying its`s been delayed. Didn`t realise the cd version wasn`t affected. I`m hoping they throw in a cd or download for free with the vinyl.

Had a look at the K-Scope site, but it isn't clear if the 'Quantum Gate' LP has a free download with it.

Remembered that the very first CD issued from Tangerine Dream (back in the days where the format was still regarded as a novelty) was a rather good compilation of their Virgin output called 'Dream Sequence'. This is a double disc with bits of the major albums from 'Phaedra' up to 'White Eagle'. Interesting for TD fans is that 2 superb tracks from the 'Risky Business' film are included here: 'The Dream is Always the Same' and 'Love on a Real Train'.

A good and inexpensive introduction to the music of Tangerine Dream.

I got a free download with Synthwaves, and my Leonard Cohen purchase came a free cd.

I forgot that you already had Synthwaves, Anotonio. The Strictly limited vinyl edition!!

It's currently on 'repeat play' here and has a terrific classic-TD vibe.
Loving it!

Just listened to Brian Lustmord's dark ambient album "The Place Where The Black Stars Hang"

Music for souls lost in an abandoned spaceport at the bottom of a black hole.
You wouldn't want to go there. Lovecraftian in the extreme.

I couldn't turn it off.....

Never heard of that artist Steve but tried Lustmord - Black Static on You Tube and maybe a little too ambient for me.

Lustmord is the name he goes by as an artist.

Lustmord - Metastatic Resonance video

Yup - that's dark and ultra-ambient. But not much happening.

In a similar vein, but with a bit more 'body' is 'Beast in the Heat' by Hemisphere, some good rhythmic work from about the 32-minute mark. Their other albums are also worthwhile, especially 'Attachment X'.
